About Us

Ocean to Plate Seafood’s mission is to provide our clients with quality, fresh and local seafood to enhance their seafood cooking and dining experience.

Bridging the gap between harvester and consumer

While most seafood consumers have little idea where their product actually comes from, Ocean to Plate Seafood strives to bridge that gap between consumer and harvester. We take pride in providing you with the freshest seafood caught by local fishers. When possible, we even include the vessel of origin to help cultivate a connection between what's on your plate and who provided it.

Since a large percentage of fish landed in Nova Scotia is shipped directly to the United States and other markets, the founder of Ocean to Plate Seafood, Troy Atkinson, felt that it was time to provide seafood lovers with an opportunity to access fresh, locally caught and grown seafood.

Troy has worked in and around the seafood industry in Nova Scotia for more than 30+ years. He has worked in the processing sector, as a gear supplier and serves as the President of the Nova Scotia Swordfishermen’s Association, Executive Director of the St. Margaret’s Bay Tuna Fishermen’s Association, and has served three terms as a Canadian ICCAT (International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna) Commissioner, appointed by the Privy Council.

Healthy, sustainable Maritime caught seafood

We provide our customers with healthy, local & sustainable seafood options. Most of our offerings come from the waters off Nova Scotia. Mussels and oysters are grown in Prince Edward Island. Some of our products are from MSC (Maritime Stewardship Council) certified sources such as swordfish, haddock and halibut.

Fresh, quality seafood delivered to your door

We are currently offering seafood delivery in the Halifax, Dartmouth, and Bedford areas, bringing fresh fish right to your door. Our product is sourced from local fishing vessels and seafood processors, with product arriving to us so that it can be packaged and delivered to our clients the following day.
